Import new data only

Hi I have a old VB3 installation running on live site and a new VB4 running on the dev site, the dev site I orginally upgrade from the VB3 and made some changes to the dev site to suite my needs. Now I would like to only import the new data that was added since last time I imported the data, impex doesnt seem to do this. Any suggestions?

Also upon upgrading VB4 to VB4.0.1 do I just overwrite the source?
