Problems with Custom Theme Padding and Borders
 
I've been problem with my style that I have been working on for quite sometime now. I want to do something like VMKMagic's Generation theme. I need all of the content (below the navbar) to have larger margins than the footer and header, making it look like it inside of a container, so to speak.

This idea has working out fairly well, but I have come across several issues with the way I am doing it. I have added a div (infin_content) below the navbar and closed it in the footer. I have set magin-left and margin-right both to 20px. Now this has working out quite well, until we get to viewing a topic. For some reason, nothing changed below the poll (if there) or notice. After that, the margins are back to the default. Here are some screenshots to show what I am talking about.

And it happens to be where you view the threads.

If that's not a enough of a problem, we've been having problems putting a border around the "infin_content" as well. We have the CSS done, but it just won't work. Do you have any ideas on how I could fix this?

Thats because there is an extra /div somewhere in that template that is closing your div tag to early. Try adding the margin left and margin right to the $spacer_open template. It surrounds everything but the footer and The header and with a little tweaking it works well to add space or remove space on the sides. If you would rather do it your way post the link to your website or the code template you are having issues with.
