Sliding login panel with jQuery
 

I'm looking to implement a jquery sliding login panel, the one found here to be exact.

I've searched these forums and came across this mod for 3.8 (here), but it isn't exactly what i want. That mod doesn't stay after you've log in. I'm looking to completely replace my default login box, so i need it to stay all the time. I also want it to change when logged in. For example, i want it to change "Hello Guest" to "Hello (username)" and perhaps add usercp, private messages, and log out links.

Is this even possible? If not then i completely understand. I'm sure others out there would love a complete mod like this.
