Please help reseting threadid value

I just prunned 20,000+ threads from a forum and I'm wondering if it is possible to run an SQL query to reset the value for the remaining threads in vb_thread.

I mean, now i have threads with ID over 20000 and I won't have more than 1000 in the end.

Is it possible to run a query that renames threadid into it's corresponding number of row in the database? :confused:
