StyleVars in New Style - not taking affect?

Hey guys,

I created a new style by going to Styles & Languages -> Style Manager -> Add New Style.
I created a style, with No Parent, named it and gave it a Unique Display Order.

First thing I did was edit the titleimage Style Var so that I could have my logo at the top left of the header. This worked fine.

Next, I want to adjust the header background to match my logo.
The thing here, is that no matter what I do with the header_background Stylevar, it does not take affect here. I have tried images, colors, etc.

I decided to test if I could even change this on the Vb4 Default Style - and it changed fine.

Here's where the funky stuff happens. I refreshed my new Style (the one I created) and it's using the change that was made to the Vb4 Default Style.

Yikes! What's going on? Anyone else notice this? If not, what steps did you take to get it to work?

As for the version, I'm running 4.0.1 Publishing Suite.

Thanks for any help!

Questions regarding default vBulletin 4 should be asked on the vBulletin.com forums. See this sticky - Installation Issues / Questions or bug reports regarding default vBulletin 4.0

Hello,

I don't believe this is an Installation Issue or Question.
I believe this is regarding "anything related to creating vBulletin styles"...

It was posted here to find out if anyone else is experiencing the same issue. If they are, perhaps it's a bug. If it's not, perhaps they can help?

Thanks.

Then the correct place to post is over on vb.com. Actually, first do a search in the bug tracker to see if it's posted as a bug, if not, then ask if anyone else is experiencing the same issue, then if they are, then you should post it as a bug. Changing stylevars is default vB functionality and thus you should be asking about it over on vb.com.

most likely the browser is caching the CSS which is a good thing assuming you don't make changes to your style once it's complete.

It's bad while you're building because you constantly have to refresh to see how things look.

It is a bug. It is supposed to be fixed for 4.0.2. If you create a new style from the default, changes in stylevars will not take. What I did was downloaded a basic skin from here and completly rebuilt it.

Thanks Woffie, I actually did search the Bug Tracker, as well as the forums (of course). Seems if I delete the vb Default Skin, and set the newly created one as default - I can get the header_background to work.

Problem is, header_link_color and header_linkhover_color appear broken as well.

Insane.
