</templates> tag was missing in the xml file. :o

Here is what you should do,
just download the product again and import product xml file keeping "overwrite" option ON.
Or you can just uninstall the product xml from vb admincp and import it again.
It will automatically do everything. You dont have to edit any template manually. ;)

Yap. Its a contacts inviter. Just like facebook, myspace and many other big websites got for themselves. :)
Its fully secured and there is no way one can steal/store login credentials.
