Welcome Block Widget Thing?
 
Anyone have any ideas on how to make a widget for the CMS home page that gives information similar to what the "Welcome Block" has with vBadvanced (for 3.8 and earlier). I wish I had a screenshot but I don't.

It has the user's avatar, said "Welcome Back, Username" and gave the number of posts since their previous visit. I can handle setting up a static HTML widget, but I don't really know where to start in order to pull the avatar, username, and posts since last visit.

Any help would be great!
