How to: change template colors and...

Hi Everybody,

I am totally new to Vbulletin and i have installed the Vbulletin sweet software.
I am now trying to change the colors of my forum but i just can't seem to do it.

I thought by changing the Gradient_tct.gif and the gradient_thead.gif i would change the colors. But that sure did not change a bit.

I am familair with webdesigning using dreamweaver and workign with HTML and PHP i am familiar with Zen-cart and similar software. But Vbulletin is taking me to a WHOLE new level i guess.

I was also looking into a way of changing the header add ( that is now in 2 small banner sizes ) into 1 large banner add and teh possibilitie to have a side banner/add as well.

Are there plugings or templates for this or shoudl it be done otherwise.

argh, i think i am clueless..... :erm:

You probably need to modify a template (just a guess). It really helps if when you talking about changing things if you provide and image of what you want.

Use this trick to find the template you need to modify - vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . Then go back to your page and view the source code and you will see the name of the template called around your part of the code.

Also, is this a vb3 issue of vb4 issue? The names of the gradients look like vb3 images, but this is the vb4 forum.

Thank you so much, Lynne.....I had the same question (which is why my search brought me to Glassgossip's thread) as I've been trying to change my 4.0 version default colors....I've pretty much have it all figured out except for a few spots, such as the numbered page images....I couldn't find anywhere to change those??

Thanks GlassGossip for posting a good question and thanks Lynn for all your help :)
