Boosting Posts

Hey All,

I'm looking for mods that help boost people's posting. One thing I have in mind is a mod that shows the user all of the threads they recently posted in so they can easily respond.

Best,
Wade

Display Unread Posts & Reputation comments - Paul M ?

Or subscriptions - setting via usercp

I just adjusted the subscription notification setting in the admincp dashboard for immediate email notification. This way all my members get an instant email when the thread is updated with new posts.

Then thats a good thing! Make interesting threads, stuff that will catch their eyes!

Here is a few things I do to bolster post counts......

Create one or two "fake" accounts.

Start a few threads (keep it believable) using the fake account(s)

For instance, if your forum is a puppy forum, start a thread "I just got a puppy, he chews up my shoes, Help!"

Now don't be stupid and post recognizable text or photos. If one member spots your fake posts, it can get embarrassing.

Memberships come and go, core members stay, so after your fake identity has thrown down a few posts, fade away and don't return.

Another thing I like to do is troll old threads, when you find a topic that is interesting but just faded away some time ago, make a post on it, this brings it back up to the top of the list, and newbs will post comments. (Hey it always happens when someone else regurgitates an old thread, so why not use it to get more posts??)

When you are staring at "who's online" and you see a bot reading an old thread, click the link and see if the thread is any good, and if it is, make a post and bring it back up to the top of the list...
