Migrating From VB 3.6 to 4.0 Suggestions
 

Hi Guys 'n' Girls,

We have a forum which is pretty active (80,000 posts) and a few custom modifications and of course fine tuning the settings over the years....

I am looking at having this redesigned and want to upgrade to version 4.0 to take advantage of the Div/CSS formatting rather than the old school table format.

I am concerned about a number of things but the biggest concern is migrating the data from the current database to the new one (unsure of what database changes have been made since version 3.6 onwards).

I will be setting up the new forum on a development machine and fully testing before deploy but i am looking for advice/suggestions on the best approach to take.

Other concerns include:

- Past custom tweaks
- Plugins used need to be upgraded/replaced
- Maintaining the URL format to ensure no SEO loss
