Calendar - Events Listed Only?

I have had a bunch of complaints that the calendar is hard to see upcoming events, I am wondering if there was a way to have the calendar only list days that have an event...ie:

Jan 10th - Event
Jan 24th - Event
March 12th - Event
June 8th - Event

and so on and so on, with the "Event" being a link just like you would click on the calendar to find out more info.
