Content for front page only?

I'm running vb 3.8.1 with vba. I want to add some content that will only show on the front page. My front page is MYDOMAIN/forums/index.php I've always been confused as to whether or not the "/forums/index.php" has to be my front page?? Can someone please assist in this matter?
