Remove from Forum homepage

Hi,

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2010/10/1.gif vBullein.org Forum

Ive used this site as an example above, however the code for my forum is below. Is there anyway I would be able to stop that from showing on the forum index page, but still have it in every other page?

PHP Code:

<div class="bc">
<
a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]accesskey="1">$vboptions[bbtitle]</a$navbits[breadcrumb] <if condition="$navbits['lastelement']">&raquo; <span style="color:#ff8a00">$navbits[lastelement]
</
span></if>
</
div

Hi,

Thank for your reply.

In the first image where it says "Swap UK" on the homepage, I want to be able to remove that or stop it from showing, however I want it to show on the rest of the forum like in the second image.

Thanks

Dave

Im not sure there is an easy way to do this, I would just edit the FORUMHOME template and remove the "$navbar" code and then open up the navbar template and copy all the code there, then paste the code in the FORUMHOME template and just removing the following code.

HTML Code:

<if condition="is_array($navbits)">
                        <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0">
                        <tr valign="bottom">
                                <td><a href="#" onclick="history.back(1); return false;"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/navbits_start.gif" alt="$vbphrase[go_back]" border="0" /></a></td>
                                <td>&nbsp;</td>
                                <td width="100%"><span class="navbar"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]" accesskey="1">$vboptions[bbtitle]</a></span> $navbits[breadcrumb]</td>
                        </tr>
                        <tr>
                                <td class="navbar" style="font-size:10pt; padding-top:1px" colspan="3"><if condition="$_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == 'POST'"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/navbits_finallink_$stylevar[textdirection].gif" alt="" border="0" /><else /><a href="$navbar_reloadurl"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/navbits_finallink_$stylevar[textdirection].gif" alt="$vbphrase[reload_this_page]" border="0" /></a></if> <strong>$navbits[lastelement]</strong></td>
                        </tr>
                        </table>
                <else />
                        <div class="navbar" style="font-size:10pt"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]" accesskey="1"><img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_misc]/navbits_start.gif" alt="" border="0" /></a> <strong>$vboptions[bbtitle]</strong></div>
                </if>

I would use
Code:

<if condition="THIS_SCRIPT != 'index'">
Basically, it declares "Show this bit of code on every page except index.php"

Just wrap it around anything you don't want to show on your index page.

If you happen to have renamed your index.php page to something like forums.php just edit the code appropriately.

==============================

So, if I understand your plan you should open your navbar template and find the line
Code:

    <td class="alt1" width="100%">
(It's right there near the beginning of the template)

Replace it with
Code:

    <td class="alt1" width="100%">
<if condition="THIS_SCRIPT != 'index'">

Then find the first
Code:

</td>
Replace it with
Code:

        </if>
    </td>

Can't say as I understand why you would do it, but there it is.

Yea Thelonius Beck good solution, i didnt learn about that if statement till a little after i responded to this post, that will work well. The only issues this may cause is if using vBadvance, it generally is named index also.

Too true. This is the situation I was thinking of when I mentioned the possibility of renaming forum home.
