More Chat Options for VB4

I know vb4 is still new in gold, but this is one of the major things holding me back from the upgrade so far. Currently I use cyb and think its great, meets all my needs. the current options for vb4 are not that great IMO. I don't need something as complex and option full as GCBOS or an irc client. Just a basic ajax chat with smilies. I don't know when some of the 3.x options will be upgraded and just wondering if someone was working on some alternatives for 4 other then the 2-3 current options that I'm aware of (GCBOS, ezirc, flashchat)

GCBOS author is working on adding smilies and text formating from what I heard. I'd look into using GCBOS.

Yea I saw that. The main thing I don't like about gcbos is that it seems old school or techy, has the /say or /pm too much like irc, and I don't want users to be able to pm in chat. Just want a one line type stuff in and click send or go or say etc type chat for my board. Very basic, gcbos has many more features that I actually dont want my users to have.

That isn't the PM as you think and you can disable all those commands too :) The /pm means someone sent you a PM GCBOS is just being nice to inform the person they got one.

good to know. There is one other mod that is a must have mod for my forums I am waiting on. If that one gets updated and no other chat options are out there by then I will probably impliment GCBOS at least as a stop gap and see how it goes

I used to use flash but I am slowly migrating away from firefox to IE8 x64 browser. I haven't played with a lot of chat mods like others here so that is one reason I may like GCBOS so much but it does what I want it to as well. As said if you want you can turn off all th command lind stuff for all too.
