Facebook Wall/Twitter Mod/Widget
I'd like to have a "Wall" on my forum/website which will allow people to post their status. Right now I do this by using a forum I called "Wall" and a thread called "What's your status?". People cannot create new threads on this forum but they can reply to the thread, and post their current status. But it would be a lot better if I could get this from the home page or another location so its kind of the focus of the website, not just another forum.
Maybe this could be done as a widget so people can put it where ever they want. |
Great idea mate and one that i would love to see too.

Yea and status could be set with a max limit, kind of like twitter where you can put a max of 160 characters or something. So it doesn't clutter up your page with huge status posts.

Just to make sure I understand this. Say if some updates there status on facebook or twitter you want it to post in a specified thread?
If that's what you want its very easy to do but highly discuraged if so. I guess it just depends on how often you members change their status. Even wih 100 members say change their status 1 time every day can really get spamful. |

I get you! And this would be an awesome feature. I did see a mod for Moods, but that is too general (a little MySpace, last year, kinda thing) and a personal status would be great. It would be good to have on a wall, which is needed. But I also would like to see it under Friends and Contacts. A wall would be great if it excluded the forum but included activities within blogs and comments (both CMS and blogs). Anyone else? |
Absolutely. Im astonished nobody has coded a wall into vbulletin mods.
This would be THE most popular mod by far. Imagine clicking a menu tab and seeing a wall below with instant and frequent status updates, instead of the full post. AMAZING idea. |
