vB4: Multiple Boards, One account.

A great day to you, and thanks for visiting my thread!
I am eagerly looking for an answer to this very question: "Is it possible to have one account creation, linked to multiple boards?"

This would include, but is not limited to:
  • When e-mail address is changed, it will be applied globally
  • When password is changed, it will be applied globally
  • Profile data like signature & usertitle etc. would be seperated for each board.

For what am I trying to achieve this matter in question?

Well, I am wanting to setup a great network of multiple 'project' (=site), and it's important to have a seperate board for each 'project'.

I greatly appreciate any given comment, and ofcourse, I appreciate the time you have taken to read my thread.

Cheers and a Merry Christmas to you!

Sincerely,
Claiver

Thank. You.

Excuse my lack of search-skills, and I am very-very happy to have people like you on these forums, who put the effort in helping members like me out. Thank you for your time.

EDIT: this does not allow multiple installations, right?

Many friendly people here helped me when I was a n00b so you are most welcome.

Not exactly no. Its a different approach for the same goal: Instead of having multiple installations and connection them all, this is one installation (which means everything is integrated :) ), but in such a way that the installation can be used on multiple domains and also look like multiple domains. A user will not see the difference and it seems to me that its a whole lot easier to manage.

Ohh darn, we'd actually wanted multiple installations, for we'd have a team for each board, managing their own board as it's needed. Would this be possible?

Just redo that and your set... i.e. Have them all know their assigned areas. Integrated is better imo, one source to manage and control yet delegate what admins to what subdomains so with that mod you need multiple licenses yet can have... computers.yoursite.com and the admins that know about computers handle the forums associated with that subdomain and the next for example could be consoles.yoursite.com which could have your admins that know about console systems in charge of it... see what I mean, you can still get what you want only you have to approach it slightly different ;).

Curse.com is a good example of what we like to achieve as well. Just multiple installations, one account.

Also, new question, I want to have my own (custom) webpage with a registration field, then I wish to submit this data to the vBulletin code, which will then create the account for me. Possible? Same with login, I just want to have an own login form that will handle the login etc. so basically I'd need to use the vBulletin classes/methods for this.

Achievable?
