Sub forum show Last 12 posts?

I've seen some other forums with this function. Where a category has over 20 sub forums & it shows Last 12 posts. Is it a plugin/modification or it's a featured in vBulletin?
I have this modification installed (Cyb - Sub-Forum Manager). Though, I don't see this option.
