How to divide threadbit in 2 column ?

As you know the result of threadbit (thread listing) is 1 title in each row. I would like to customize the page but i couldn't find how to divide the result in 2 column.

Is it possible to do that ?

The most simple way to describe what i would like to do will be as below :
Current

I would like to do like below

You could do that fairly easily in vB4 since with just CSS, but it will be a bit more difficult in vB3. You can get the mod that arranges forums into columns and modify it to do this to threads. But, I don't know of a mod that already exists that will do this.
