Rollover / alt data

I run a 3.8.4 site which has some funky word definitions. I need something where I can update a db with new words and definitions such that the user can rollover a word in a post, and a definition will appear in the neat little yellow box. Kinda like when someone rolls over a thread link. It's not going to be a huge definition db, perhaps 100-150 defs. Is this possible?
