Installing vB to a free host?

Hello, I need to install vB to a free host as I am doing a few tests on the board and will not be publicaly viewable.

I have tried all the free hosts I can find, to which none of them actually work and do not allow vBulletin. Do you know any hosts that allow vB to be installed and actually lets you upload all of the files?

Thanks

why not install it on your local host if it's just for testing
or install it in a test/ folder and pass protect it (so guest can't see it)

I cannot install to localhost because I am having serious problems with WAMP, XAMMP and installed PHP on my computer. I have contacted all these companies with some replies so solutions I have tried and not worked.

My web host does not allow me to installed 2 vB onto one web hosting, or I just don't know how to because it is not letting me install it as I have only one MySQL DB.

In your config.php for each forum, give each forum its own db prefix ie... If your only allowed one database for your hosting account.

If your currently installed site doesn't have a prefix already, just give the test site one, then install as normal, also make sure you backup your current db before doing anything.

Snake is giving you the best solution. This will also give you a forum to test things on that will run like your ive forum since they are on the same host with the exact same config. Also please note that installing VB to a free host breaks your Linc agreement with VB as ur Link is only good for one domain and a dev site of the same domain.

it would also be advised to create a sub domain on ur current host dev.yourdomain.com and upload your VB files there. Your Config.php will be identical to your live site except for the DB prefix and the Dir location if you have it defined.
