Clan Management for VB4
 

Would any vb coders out there be interested in coding clan management support for VB4?

This is the one thing that I know many, many clans would love that are using VB, but its never got written. A couple of people started something quite some time ago, but never released anything :(

I'm sure there are many people like me who would be more than happy to contribute to a developer fund in order to get something written :)

Clan Management would include ways to create squad based rosters, management of upcoming clan wars that includes results and stats of matches played.

vbGuild was written for vb3.8, I'm pretty sure the author is going to upgrade it for vB4, but I have no idea of the timeframe.

I thought I had searched pretty much exhaustedly for this for VB. Maybe I missed it because its named guild instead of clan. It might not be suitable for FPS clans, but here's hoping :)

EDIT: As thought, it's not suitable for FPS clans and match management :(

I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for but...

You can edit the fields adding new ones, removing etc... so you can log whatever fields you want.

Also, for match management, check out the "Tournaments and Ladders" mod, really slick mod for ladders and teams, etc.

Hi, the ladder mod is good and we do have it installed, but it's incredibly hard to get other clans to use it really.

The kind of thing most clans look for are:
Add, edit, delete Games (so adding cod4, cod5, mw2 etc)

Ability to add, edit, delete squad (names) for those games - so i might create a S+D Squad for COD4

Ability to assign clan (forum) members to those squads

Ability to schedule matches for those games/squads and show them on the homepage as well as in the calendar.

Ability for squad members to sign up for a match. I know there is an RSVP calendar mod which could be used, but would be nice for a squad member to view an upcoming match and click 'Sign Me up' directly or something like that.

Ability to post match results, screenshots and allow comments

Ability to view detailed match and squad member stats on number played/won/drawn/lost. Show a percentage of matches won/drawn/lost for squad members.

Yeah, ok.... I haven't seen that kinda mod. heh Sorry! I'll be happy with vbGuild ported. If not I'll have to make my own and well... I don't want to. heh

vBWar (http://www.vbwar.com) was a great paid script written for vBulletin 3.0, but lost support after the release vBulletin 3.5 or sometime around there.

- For each upcoming clan match if I remember, you just enter the match details from vBWar's control panel and it automatically created a linked calendar event, and new thread in our private forum which allowed for clan members to sign up, etc.

- a vBAdvanced module that displayed the upcoming matches

- When viewing match results you can post comments, screenshots, a recording, clan members that played vs the enemy clan members, etc.

It was everything you wanted in a clan management script. Sad to see it go.

Any update on this? I've also been looking for weeks for a match creator/results mod for vb4.

We have a roster mod and the tourney and ladders mode, but looking for something to post our gamebattles matches.

The ONLY decent mods for this sort of thing cost
