Responsibility for Copyrighted Image Attachments
 
Does anyone know the extent of the responsibility of the forum owner for users posting copyrighted images as attachments?

My forum is a fashion inspiration forum and users post pictures all the time. Even if they credit the website from which the image was taken I don't know for a fact that they obtained the consent of the photographer.

Thoughts?

You're responsible to an extent, even more of an extent if it can be proven you knew about it. 90% of the time though if they have a problem with it, they'll attempt to reach an amicable resolution with you about it.

Sometimes they might file a DMCA notice, but you can always Legally fight a DMCA notice though, and simply remove the image in question with out facing penalty
