i have a 3.8.4 vbull site
 
Is it possible to change this over to vbull 4??? or would my site have to start from scratch??? would i lose all my themes etc etc and all my modifications??

Yes you will lose your themes (unless you go in and modify every single template to use the new variable syntax) and you will need to test all of your modifications and possible disable most and replace the ones you can.

If you are just performing an upgrade on your board, then all your users/posts/attachments/etc should all be upgraded along wiht the software. Just make sure you MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE YOU UPGRADE!!!!
