mass move users identified by email address to a new usergroup?

I had a server meltdown recently and my users donated via paypal.

I'd like to move them all into a "VIP" usergroup, but over 100 people donated. I can pull their email addresses from Paypal, but that's the only information I have from them.

Is there a way to do other than one at a time?

I may have made that too complicated.

I want to search for a group of users by email addresses, and then promote them to a new usergroup in one batch.

Any ideas?
