Moderate first 15 posts?
 

I've got a forum where users don't have to verify accounts via email, but I still keep getting bots, but I don't want to turn verify on.

How do I change it so that users in the 'Member' category have to have 15 posts moderated before being allowed to post freely?

I have done it so registered users can post once, then they are promoted to a different usergroup who can access the forum without restrictions, the promote section is under usergroups in admin panel, all you do is place 15 posts or greater, and they will be promoted

Taffy is correct. Usergroup promotions.

If bots are your problem, just go into ACP > vBulletin Options > Human Verification Manager > Add new question >
Question: (Simple mathematical equation) 1+1 equals to?
Answer: 2
Answer: two

Keeps ALL bots away. Since the start of my vBulletin board, I had 0 spammers registered even if they do visit my site.

On another note, if you want to keep your users moderated, the above posts are true =p
