Happy veterans day to all veterans!

It's good to know some places do things for veterans; where I live, there are very very few places that do things like this. When asked about it their specials or discounts, just to find out, their response is that in order for any kind of discount to be given, one must be active-duty (usually it pertains to the military bases nearby) but nothing is given for those who had served, regardless if they have ID or not.

Staples was nice last year. I was out with my wife and kids and didn't even realize it was Veterans day (because of the local attitude where we were) and when I saw a sign for a discount, I asked "Does this work for disabled veterans as well?" They smiled and said, "as long as you have an ID,... of course." I popped out my ID and they gave me a 10% discount. I didn't need one, but the gesture was nice. They were one of the only places to give me a discount while the rest required an active-duty ID.
