I want to change the forum status icons...
 

I changed the forum status icons in the style and they are a png file and not a gif...can I somehow get this to work? I hate gif and want to use png.

I changed it in the style and it did not update...I tried clearing the cache and it still has not updated..wtf..

You can try using the Replacement Manager. Replace thisimage.gif with thisimage.png

Ok...I found it...I had to change something in the postbitlevel2.

If you use the replacement variable manager and do as lynne suggested there is no reason to make any template edits.

Example: forum_new.gif would be forum_new.png whilst forum_old.gif would be forum_old.png etc and so forth.
