Difference between VB Albums & a Seperate Photo Album software like PP?

What are the differences between the built in albums/photos in VB (4.x) and a program like VB Gallery or Photopost?

I've been looking closely, and really don't see that much difference? (for my basic forum users)

Any comments out there, either way?
