Seperating super admins from admins

Is there a way I can set up a section of the forums that only SuperAdmins can see (via config.php) but Admin's that aernt in the config.php but still in the Administrator's won't be able to see it.

I think you can do it using Access Masks. Deny All to the forum, then add the SuperAdmins using Access Masks.

Why use Access Masks?
Just set up permissions for that forum to be No for every usergroup, apart from the Super Administrators (or top usergroup)

Admins can edit their own access masks or add themselves to the superadmin user group. My forums had a mod for this in vb 2 and 3 however we dropped the distinction between root (super) admins and admins with 3.5

If a user is just in the Administrator usergroup, then they can't go edit access masks and permissions unless they were given the Administrator Permission to do so. From the first post, I assumed that there were several users in the Administrator usergroup, but only a couple of them were Super Admins and those were the only ones he wants in that forum. For that, I would use Access Masks.

That is true, however i've seen very few cases where admins havn't had the ability to modify users.

Most of my SuperMods have more access in the Admin Panel than my other Admin. That's by choice though since my other Admin doesn't want to touch the Admin CP. But, you are right in that mine is probably not a normal case.

thanks Lynne, your explanation was exactly what I am trying to do. Thanks

DJ29Joesph and I did need this, but isn't there a way to do this based on the user IDs as well.

We are the only 2 Supper Admins currently on the site.
