have a sidebar that looks good on all pages except showthread, desperate for help
 

Hi, not sure why this is happening or where to look for the problem. It seems to have anomalies in all browsers but only in the showthread area. Here is a screenshot showing how the sidebar is normal in forumdisplay but extends a gap in showthread, etc. If someone could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

Probably the $spacer_ templates. I'd guess you put the sidebar on the wrong side of one of those (either you should have put it before closing it, or you should have put it after closing it.)

Thanks, i'll have to get the guy who made the sidebar to look into it as I don't quite understand spacing templates. But.. if it looks ok on forumdisplay then I suppose this means something is different either in the sidebar code that displays it elsewhere or is it specific to showthread template?

Since Ihave no idea what was done to install the sidebar, I can't speculate about why it looks fine on one page and not another. I just know that when I have seen that sort of 'gap' before, it is usually to do with a misplaced $spacer_close.
