Link For Members Topics In A Certain Set Of Forums

Ive got a section on my site for videos that members post up from varies sites, & i want to put a link to their videos (topics), in the box that pops up when you click on a members username in a post. (Just under the 'Find More Posts by Username')

I want it to say 'Username's Videos', you click the link & it takes you to a list of all your topics in a certain set of forums.

The main forum id is /forumdisplay.php?f=19, with a load of subforums, =20 write through to =50.

So really i just need a link for members topics in a certain set of forums.

Can anyone help?

I have been looking for something like this as well. It might not exactly be what you are looking for but if there was an automatic thread tagger that taged each thread with a members username then a forum specific auto tag like videos, then you could acomplish your search by linking

http://yourdomain.com/tags.php?tag=$userinfo['name']%2C+videos

but I have yet to find a thread tagger that will auto tag usernames. Just an idea for a sidestep if the mod your requesting is too tricky

Thanks for your reply m8, i'll look into it.
Is there anyway of filtering down the search results, from the 'Find All Threads By This User' to just in a certain section of the forum tho.

Did you try looking at the search.php file to see the allowed variables to pass? I think the one you are looking for is forumchoice[]=x,y,z Not sure... not tried.

Ok I have a template modification just about done that would have a button in member profiles to link to a search result of their threads in specific forums. I will probably be able to do it for posts. If your intrested I can give it a go. I will need to get the name you want for the button, forum id's or id and need to know if you use the vertical postbit legacy or horizontal postbit.

Update: I can add a button to pull a members posts/threads created in specific forums to member profiles, anywhere you like, but I cant seem to get the postbit or postbit legacy to work. Ill keep trying.

Sorry for the late, late reply... but did you manage to get this working in the postbit?

Or any update on it m8...

I just got side tracked with other mods, then forgot about this.
