Dropdown User Profile Field Selection on Registration

I'm looking to have a dropdown menu as a User Profile field with a list in it of locations for when users register / joins the forum. I have looked around for this and haven't found anything, but imagine it wouldn't be impossible or too hard to do. Can somebody point me in the right direction please?
