Multiple duplicate Thread Subscription Emails

I'm experiencing a strange issue at our vbulletin forums.

If someone subscribes to a thread they receive multiple duplicate thread subscription emails notifying them of an update to the thread.

Has anyone every experienced an issue like and know what may be causing it?
