Hack of Index of Doctors (Needed)

My forum is specialized about Dentistry:D

I have an excel files::cool: Index of the Dentists ( Name , city, sex, Address, specialization, work Tel, home tel , Mobile, note.) , index of Med Doctors ( the same details ) , Index of Pharmacies ( the same details), Index of Dental firms ( Name , Address, Tel, Fax) .

The Index Of dentist contains about 7000 names , and I want to import it directly in the DB ,

I want to allow my visitors to search for :confused:a Dentist ,doctors, pharmacies and firms by city or address or Name or sex ...etc.

Can anyone Help my about this matter , is there any hack to do that or I do it ( or someone to program it for me)

I have done a similar thing, but by posting thousands of addresses by hand. There are some considerations to share:
If you have a lot of areas to divide into you may consider to use forums for each area. This will lead to a large number of forums. vbulletin can only have a limited number of forums. Above a certain number performance will go down rapidly.

vb CMS is coming out. It will allow widgets to be created. An index widget may suit you. It may be worth waiting for that.

Do you want your members to rate the dentists?

If you don't mind paying for it, i'm pretty sure there was a commercial hack that displayed a database of stuff from vbadvanced. I can't speak for how good it is, but their portal system is pretty highly regarded.

vbadvanced dynamics might be a good fit but I haven't used it myself.

I have used vbadvanced links directory. It allowed me to add custom fields for the extra info (address, and all that). I did some template tweaks to show it the way I wanted it. This was a while back ... I had to also edit a few things so a url wasnt needed.

Regardless of what system your using, you can use phpmyadmin to upload a csv file into the database. You can use excel to save as a csv file.

Whatever system you go with, enter one set of data, and then download those tables as a csv file. Open it in excel and just add the rest of the data. Save, upload, and your set.

Thank you all,
I am thinking to get VBA dynamics , it has search as I want and it makes a table in data base for each additional entry's.

Have a link? I think a few people (including myself) wouldn't mind seeing how its turning out.
