A trick for new websites
 

I discovered a trick that boosts the online statistics

If you have a new forum which not yet getting enough traffic
and those 1 viewing 2 viewing etc that appear next to the forums titles are bothering you
and when your WHO'S ONLINE BOX is showing modest numbers

You can do something to weather this

admincp>vboptions>cookies and http headers options>

Increase the first option from the default 900
may be 5000 or even 10000

This will increase the time out (in seconds) for logged in users and apparently it works for visitors cookies as well

Your online viewers statistics will boost in multiples :D

Note: this might not be a good idea from the security or the server point of view, so use it only when your forum is still new and not getting much traffic and set it back to 900 or even less later on when you get non embarrassing traffic
