Moving Server..
 
Hi There

I am moving server over the course of the next couple of weeks, I'm okay with copying and uploading the vb files over ftp from old to new, and then moving the database tables over using command line..however, can someone tell me the correct steps to a successful transfer - i.e which step is first etc..

Do I copy the files/tables first, then repoint the ns to the new server, or the other way around ?

I'm going to Hetzner - and I need to create a new domain under the name of the current site first before I do anything else...

It's from there that I'm looking for the correct step by step.

yeah, I have read that, however, my question is a bit detailed than what is covered in Moving Servers ?

You don't switch DNS usually until your are finished moving. First get everything running on the new server, then change the DNS.
