Spam - BIG PROBLEM!
 
i get so many spam bots - so i have sieved though the spam mods

but can someone please advise me on the best ones to have?

Do a search in this forum for other threads with "spam" in the title. There are tons of threads about the issue with recommended methods to deal with it.
