too distracting w/ box in way.

Box dissappears after a few seconds, but I agree that its distracting.

The box is beyond distracting and overwhelming (also causes an unnecessary scroll) and I actually x'd out the screen before giving it a chance to go away (although I went back after to see what it's about).

The logo can use better quality, the glowing is blurry and cut off. The welcome and notice messages don't attract readers imo, try smoother text and maybe different colors. The status icons can definitely use some changing. Even that boxed logo you have would be better. Sidebar is decent, navigation isn't so bad. You seem to have a decent member base, although I don't see why you don't have more content with all those members. Perhaps you should offer a few incentives for content or hire ppp?

1. get rid of the box, it wasn't even centered on my screen.
1.1 you ahve effectively 3 welcome notices. make it 1 and make it custom.
2. get a new logo and stop biting bank of america's.
3. the style is a little gawdy IMO, with the traffic i see on your stats you should have the cash to hire a designer.
4. get rid of the members that registered in the last 24 hours, just too much space for something most people don't care about.
5. i really don't like the top 20 stats, maybe drop it down to 5?

Okay I took alot of the suggestions here and revamped using them. Let me know what you think now. Please feel free to give more suggestions. We redid pretty much the entire template.

I clicked off waiting for the timer, I can only imagine how many guests that turns off to your site. In today's day and age asking someone to sit there for 10 seconds just to get to your content is like asking them to wait 10 minutes. If your content isn't really really worth it people are going to move on.

However, the main home page looks decent IMO.

Thats there because we have very strict rules for the subject at hand. Im sure you dont undertsand because your not a member. If you understood the concept of the forum then you would know why we have a timer for people to read our rules and make them agree to them. If thats all that is wrong with our site then I guess we are g00d!

But as eric explains, a new member will not wait for those 10 seconds and will leav without looking further.

For such a BUSY forum, the colours I have to admit, do my bloody head in lol.

I feel like I am in a dark Kaleidoscope. It is so distracting, and I found myself, not bothering to read stuff, cos in the corner of my eye the orange bold font against black, --- again caught my momentary attention.

I think the site had something to do with SEO, but it at first glance looks very overwhelming, but judging by members online, you gotta be doing something right !

If it was me, I would totally revamp the look. But then I HATE black or Dark templates.

However on a positive note, it loads FAST !
