contact us at vbulletin.org

I have sent on numerous occasions over the last 6 months requests using the contact us button in the footer here at vb.org but it seems no one seems to respond to my request.

I will not start to pm people as as it states in many signatures 'please do not pm for support' and i'd prefer to keep my request out of the public forums.

So is there a problem with the contact us button or are people too lazy to respond? Just a responce would be nice.

Anyone else having the same problems?

If there is an issue, you can start a something in site feedback. If its something that needs to be delt privately. You can start a ticket in the vBulletin Members area with Attention Marco. It will be handled accordingly.

Will start support ticket. Thanks for the advice Zachery.

BTW = What is the point of the contact us button?

Marco van Herwaarden 08-15-2009 11:56 AM

As Zachery already responded.

The Contact Us email address is 1 huge spam collector. Around 1.000 mails a day, 99.99% of which are spam, bounce notices, auto responders, people replying to subscription or PM notices, in languages i don't understand, offers for links sharing, support questions about modifications and other questions that don't belong there.

The only messages that belong in there are from people who can not login to their account anymore.

Bottom line: If you can handle it on the forums, do so. If you can't and it is about vB.org or your vB.org account, open a ticket like Zachery described.

If I have a support question, is there a particular place I need to go? I am trying to set up a new install. Prior to purchasing the licence a called the pre sales questions and was told I would receive an Email, that never arrived, I purchased the licence anyhow and have been attempting to get my forum together, but a critical, but some what simple question about skins, I ask last night has had no responce yet and it is holding me up on going live.

I don't know what email you are talking about, but if it was something to do with your license, you should be putting in a support ticket over at vbulletin.com. That site deals with licensing issues since that is where you purchase the software.

As for questions, it looks like you posted in the right forum. I didn't fully understand the question, but I'll see what I can do.

I can understand your reasons but as the contact us button in the footer uses a script (sendmessage.php) surely many of those unwanted emails can be filtered by conditions and the email address can be changed.

I'm not here to argue, i just feel that a contact us button should be just that. This is an official vbulletin modification site so surely with all the experience and resources of jelsoft staff it should not be that hard to modify the script a little to filter out unwanted requests and advise genuine customers like me of the correct procedures. i sent all my messages from being logged in so you can see that it is from a genuine customers as it has my username.

Again, im not here to complain but i would like to suggest this as constructive feedback.

Hi Justitaly.eu

If you have a particular Issue and it cannot be resolved via the forums then you can contact a member of staff directly here https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/info.php?do=staff

Just chose one that you feel would best help you. Normally the forums are a treasure chest of ideas and solutions, and you can probably find an answer for your question in a shorter space of time, than by asking for a solution from a basic contact us link.

If your issue is with Vbulletin.org itself, then please contact one of the admins on the above link.

As Lynne Stated any issues with licensing, then you should be contacting the guys at Vbulletin.com direct

Hope that helps ;)

basically what everyones saying is they're not going to fix the contact us at the bottom of the page to actually work, for you or anyone else. Use the other ways to get ahold of people.

Marco van Herwaarden 08-20-2009 07:21 AM

Nobody ever said it didn't work. It does work, but you have the chance that the message gets burried between thousands of others. And considering the time it takes to process, messages that don't belong there will never get a response.

Questions that can/should be asked on the forums or in PM to staff should be asked on the forums. The Contact Us is not a private support option.
