If I understand you correctly, you'd be looking to use the "postbit legacy" format. To do this, go to your Admin cp > vBulletin Options > Style and Language Settings page and select "Yes" for "Use Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template."

This would align the avatar and details vertically on the side instead of horizontally across the top of each post.

i dont want the info on the far left aligned vertically aswell... i just want avatar under name, rank image under avatar, rank under name

anyone able to help me?

I can't tell what order you want them in (name, avatar, rank image... where does rank go?), but you should be able to tell pretty easily which line is which in the postbit template and just move them around.

I would like name, rank,avatar, rank image :)

I'm pretty sure that 'rank' is the usertitle. So...

Find:
HTML Code:

        <!-- user info -->
        <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellpadding]" border="0" width="100%">
        <tr>
            <if condition="$show['avatar']"><td class="alt2"><a href="member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$post[userid]"><img src="$post[avatarurl]" $post[avwidth] $post[avheight] alt="<phrase 1="$post[username]">$vbphrase[xs_avatar]</phrase>" border="0" /></a></td></if>
            <td nowrap="nowrap">

                <div id="postmenu_$post[postid]">
                    <if condition="$show['profile']">
                    <a class="bigusername" href="member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$post[userid]">$post[musername]</a>
                    $post[onlinestatus]
                    <script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("postmenu_$post[postid]", true); </script>
                    <else />
                    $post[musername]
                    </if>
                </div>

                <if condition="$post['usertitle']"><div class="smallfont">$post[usertitle]</div></if>
                <if condition="$post['rank']"><div class="smallfont">$post[rank]</div></if>
$template_hook[postbit_userinfo_left]

            </td>

Change to:
HTML Code:

        <!-- user info -->
        <table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellpadding]" border="0" width="100%">
        <tr>
<td nowrap="nowrap" class="alt2">
                <div id="postmenu_$post[postid]">
                    <if condition="$show['profile']">
                    <a class="bigusername" href="member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$post[userid]">$post[musername]</a>
                    $post[onlinestatus]
                    <script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("postmenu_$post[postid]", true); </script>
                    <else />
                    $post[musername]
                    </if>
                </div>
                <if condition="$post['usertitle']"><div class="smallfont">$post[usertitle]</div></if>
            <if condition="$show['avatar']"><a href="member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$post[userid]"><img src="$post[avatarurl]" $post[avwidth] $post[avheight] alt="<phrase 1="$post[username]">$vbphrase[xs_avatar]</phrase>" border="0" /></a></if>
                <if condition="$post['rank']"><div class="smallfont">$post[rank]</div></if>
</td>
            <td nowrap="nowrap">&nbsp;
$template_hook[postbit_userinfo_left]

            </td>

I think that will work. You could move the template_hook over to the other column also, if you wanted.

psilocybin1 08-19-2009 04:27 PM

works good but the information on the right side (posts, rep, etc..) isnt showing up..just my experience bar

Lynne 08-19-2009 04:36 PM

Did you delete that part of your postbit? I only said to change a very small portion of it.
