"Layout Options" box - does this need a mod? (3.6.8)
This is kind of a dumb question, but does the "Layout Options" box at the bottom of this forum require a plugin? Or is that default behavior if you add a skin? I've never added a style to my forum, so I don't know if just adding a style makes this automatic.
I've googled and searched this forum, but couldn't find an answer. I saw the show skin in postbit mod, though that seems to take user being able to select the layout as a given. Also, how would the behavior of the Layout Options chooser relate to the style manager - for instance my forum has the Default Style, and the currently active style is a child of that style. To get something to show up as a layout option for users, does it matter where in the hierarchy a new style is added? As a child of the Default Style, as a grandchild of the Default Style, etc. I have vB 3.6.8 PL2, but this forum uses 3.6.12 (which surprised me) so I think if it applies to this forum it would apply to 3.6.8 as well. |
The Layout Options box on the bottom of this forum is a custom modification. Another user wrote a modification similar to it and it is available in the modifications forum.

Does anyone know the name of that modification? I'm unable to find it. |
I believe this is it - UKBL ~ Choose Multiple Forum Colors - like VB.Org

Thank you :)
Sorry for the newbie question, but how does the default vB style selection for users work? The "Skin view - show skin in postbit" mod assumes that users can select their theme, and in the admincp style settings there's the "Allow User Selection" box. Where would users normally select their style? I might be blind but I can't find this option :) |
We don't have the option on here since we have a mod to do it differently. You can see the default one in action over on vbulletin.com in the bottom left corner.
