Load Balancing Issue

We have two servers behind an up-to-date Coyote Point E350si load balancer, and what's happening is that after logging in, a few pages will display as though you weren't logged in. Clicking refresh when it happens will reload the page properly. It seems to happen predictably after about 20 seconds of idle, which doesn't correspond to any of the configured timeouts in the balancer.

We're using Debian Stable to host it, with stock packages across the board except for memcached. APC is being used.

This problem has the VBulletin support crew scratching their heads, so any help would be most appreciated!

Sounds like a caching problem in the proxie/load balancer.

Best bet, nuke the LB and one of the servers, then nuke the web serving program itself, as you stated you use a stock debian system, nuke crapache for something far better.

Who setup the LB, i use a ServerIron LB myself for one customer, not framiliar with the Coyote units, do you even have terminal access to the LB?

Marco: This happens with caching on or off, not that the LB has any.

snakes: Such as? We don't have any access to the LB aside from it's web interface and putting in a support ticket.

If you don't have any terminal access to the LB, there isnt much i can tell you as ive not see their interface.

What is your domain cookie set to?

If its set to .yourdomain.com, empty the field and save the new setting and see if the issue goes away, if it does, then its most likely a end user issue with cookies and their browser.

Id off the LB anyways and go with a better web server, get rid of crapache and save yourself some money.
