How do you add username colour chooser?

I am part of another forum and when you buy a paid subscription it allows you to choose your name colour.

Can someone tell me how to do this. vbulletin directed me here because its a code hack. I tried searching so i apologize if its posted. I could not find it.

Moved out of 3.8 Mods forum.

I'd guess they just used a profile field and then modified $userinfo[musername] based on that field (I guess?). Play with it on a test site and I'm sure you could figure it out. Custom Profile Fields

First thing you should learn to do is use the search. Best thing to do is search on a term in "all mods" "titles only". If you search on the term "color", you'd find this - Users Choose Username Font/Color Posts - and several other mods which may/may not be of interest to you.

Second thing to do is get a test site set up. I find a test site invaluable when I want to make a change on my live site because I *always* want to test it on my test site first.

Thank you. I really appreciate it. I did search but I must have missed it. Thanks again:D

So this is a screenshot of the effect this mod has.

http://i31.tinypic.com/fyinpv.jpg

some of the usernames have some language in it so Ill just warn that a little. Anyway it would be greatly appreciated if someone knew how to do this and get back to me. Definitely willing to pay nothing too extreme though.

Did you look at the mod I posted a link to?

If you wish to make a paid request, you may post here - Requests For Paid Services

I did and I could not edit that for only paid users. Also it would only work with the hex colours.

Is it possible to simply move this thread to the paid section? Thats what I wanted to do initially.

Lynne 08-09-2009 11:11 PM

You should post separately over in the Paid Requests forum. No one else is allowed to post in the threads in that forum (including Mods) which means I'd have to delete all the posts in this thread before I put it there and I think you may have other info in your posts that you want to include in your Request post.
