Hacked forum, how and prevention?
Earlier today my index.php was replaced by a hackers idiotic front page.
I was quick to react my re-uplaoding my original vB index, and that took care of it. But, I'd like to know how my site was compromised like this. Do I have a option on that might have been open to attacks? How can I prevent this from happening? Fortuntate,y there doesn't appear to be any damage to the functionality of the site as of yet. --------------- Added [DATE]1249299769[/DATE] at [TIME]1249299769[/TIME] --------------- Actually no, the index keeps getting replaced :( |
Replaced (index) files are usally done thru compromised server security. Please contact your host for more assistence.
Please read the following thread on how to improve security for your board: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=194701 |
So this would rather be a host/server issue than vB issue?
