Vbulletin scheduled task / cron help need
Hello
what will be xml code to create scheduled task / cron which will execute php file on server? also if i'm not wrong, i would assume that vB cron jobs are only activated if someone visits the forum to allow the script to run. Is there any limitation to what can, or should, be run in a job such as this? I'm thinking about performance issues in the database, mostly, but any tips from someone who has created their own cron job to do non-vB things would be helpful. When my php file is visited, it simply update counters in database and gives no output... so i specifically wanna know is it compulsory that some one must visit that page (page scheduled for execution on lets say every night 11 PM). And what if user stops execution or leaves page? |
You don't need to create the xml, it will already be in your product xml-file.
Yes Scheduled Tasks only get executed if there is traffic on your forums. |
