Message saying forbidden, locked site

Hi ,

My forum site is www.canarybreeder.net

and it gets this message if you try to acces it

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /up/ on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.8i DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.canarybreeder.net Port 80

We had an issue last night and everyone could see the directory and access it so one of the mods somewhere in the directory menu ticked the Boxes of user and World to read and write but not to modify, only the owner was left ticked read write and modify

but now no one is able to enter and we get the previous message

Is it possible to solve this and re-set via ftp?
how can we access the root folder via ftp since hosting provider is away and everything it seems that is locked ?
Most propably the server autolocked it ...i dont know.

( up ) is my root folder .
Can you help me please?
Thanks

The root folder will show as "." (1 dot) in your FTP, but mostly you won't have permission to reset this directory. Contact your host if you can not resolve this.

Thanks Marco, i can not see the dot in the FTP :( so is there any other way?
I see the root folder but it doesnt allow me to access it. Its kind of locked.

Thanks for your help
George

Usually you don't need to set the root folder, this should already be correct. If not contact your host.

Marco , thanks agoin .

My provider is on holiday until next week ,

But i have some more news now. I manage through FTP to change the permissions on the root file.
The problem now is that the index file again is shown for everybody on the web ,
but the good newa is that i can see all the folders from the vbulletin forum.

But still cannot see it on the web :-(

Any suggestions now how to make it work ???
Do you need some more info ?

Not without looking at your server. If you can not figure it out, then try in a support ticket.

Ok i have more new. I was hacked , that is final.

Some files are missing from subdreamer ( allready informe them ) but the main issues is that when i turn on the forum , when i go to the admin cp it opens this.

what can i do , please help me...

Marco van Herwaarden 08-03-2009 10:43 AM

The only advice i can give here on the forums is to remove all files that don't belong on your server, upload fresh vB files and a new style.

PS I would seriously consider closing your account until this is resolved as the hackers probably have full access to your files and database.

Mayby the problem started from there. I cant say the name of the template because meybe iam wrong

of course i can delete the new style for just in case
