On my forums, new users are reporting that posts are showing up as newest first and oldest last. How can I change this?

Posts (in a thread) or threads (in forumdisplay) are showing up in the wrong order? If posts, then User CP > Edit Options > thread display mode > linear - oldest first. You can also set that default for new users in vboptions > registration options.

If for threads, then set it in Forum Manager > select forum > default sort field and order

Hi Again Lynne, is there a way to make the forum linear only so we do not have to select a post and then go to the advanced tab. or just use the quick reply, its not so quick when you have to do it like that? My members are used to linear and even with this set up they hit the last post to open the reply box, we use quotes.

You can set it so you don't have to click on a post prior to doing quick reply (is that what you are asking?) - vboptions > Message Posting & Editing > Quick Reply > Yes, Click Not Required
