adsense in log out page

Hi
How do I add my adsense code to the log out page
any ideas!

Marco van Herwaarden 07-22-2009 10:31 AM

I think that would be against the TOS of adsense as this is not a content page.

No it does not break Google's TOC

Have a look at Google's official insideAdsense Ricardo Prada YouTube Video and go specifically to the 0:58 time in that video he said "think about providing advertisements as way of giving people a potential exit path who likely would have left your website anyway".

Also if having an ad at a log out page is breaking Google's TOC then a built-in feature of vb should be removed, which is the ability to put AdSense in the header! :D

So if you we cleared this matter my question is still valid
How do I go about putting my AdSense code in the log out page right below that cookies cleared message?

This is a really good idea.. might have to implement it.
As for how to do it, i'm not sure. Try just editing the logout page and putting the code in?

I've got a work around

I searched phrases for "all cookies cleared"
then I found this phrase [cookiescleared]

So I edited that phrase text and added the adsense code after </ul>

Now ads are showing up when people log out right in the center of the page

I am by far an expert on AdSense, but read the following:

Ad Placement
Publishers are encouraged to experiment with a variety of placements and ad formats. However, AdSense code may not be placed in inappropriate places such as pop-ups, emails or software. Publishers must also adhere to the policies for each product used.
View full ad placement policies.
Google ads, search boxes or search results may not be:
  • Integrated into a software application of any kind, including toolbars.
  • Displayed in pop-ups or pop-unders.
  • Placed in emails or in email programs.
  • Obscured by elements on a page.
  • Placed on any non-content-based page.
  • Placed on pages published specifically for the purpose of showing ads.
  • Placed on pages whose content or URL could confuse users into thinking it is associated with Google due to the misuse of logos, trademarks or other brand features.
  • Placed on, within or alongside other Google products or services in a manner that violates the policies of that product or service.

As far as I understand is that the official vBulletin software 3.8 is offering Adsense integration which will place adsense code in the header.
The header is still there in that log out page!

Does that mean it's against the TOC to have that integrated vb AdSense.

Do you think the log out page is a no content page? it still has the header, navbar, and footer

However, I don't want to take any risks with Google so Please advise me, because on that page not only I added the AdSense code below the [cookiescleared] phrase but also it's there in the header and in a sidebar column.

Now the question is how to put a conditional phrase so that the header AdSense will not show up in pages such as log out, log in, registration, and User CP

Thanking you

The header is also displayed on content pages.

Thanks Marco for your help
I've been checking around and most of the people agreed with your opinion, which is not allowed to put AdSense at logout pages.
I simply replaced the AdSense code with another affiliates links from linkshare.com :)
