Allowing users to view deleted posts as moderators can
 

Is there any way to allow normal users (or certain usergroups) to be able to view deleted posts as a moderator can?

I can't seem to find a way to do it. I know I can allow usergroups to see "deletion notices" but I was hoping I could allow them to actually click the "View Post" button and view the actual post as well.

If you wanted this, effectively deleting your posts would be useless anyway? :confused:

Not really. It would collapse the message, and most users (at least in my community) aren't interested in expanding them.

Plus, I'd like to make it so only "regular" users could see deleted messages. This would make it so new members aren't insulted by the stupid flames or trolls of some older members that most of the community knows to ignore by now. :p

ok have you tried going into your usergroup manager and changing those setting..

Go Usergroups> Usergroup manager>registered (or whatever usergroup you want>

Under the second category, forum viewing permissions, try changing the deletion notices to yes.

Yes, that enables viewing of "Deletion Notices", but I want the users to be able to actually view the deleted post as well ;) (As in, having the "Show Post" button in the upper right hand corner of the collapsed "This post was deleted by xx for xx reason." placeholder.. as a moderator sees it)
