Multi Quote as Text Link

Hello;

How would I make the Multi-Quote button into a functional text link?

I've attempted to edit the link in postbit by replacing the <img> with the text, but it seems not to work? How would I make a text link that if MQ is turned on, it bolds the text (if not, then no bold)?

Jake said it requires javascript to be performed (not just a simple <img> replacement and ID tag swap) and thus said I should try here. Any help is greatly appreciated and I'm sure would help many others! :)
